The 7th Day of Christmas: Peppermint Letter

Have I mentioned that I love this time of year?  There is so much to do!  I've had something every night this week and that's hopefully going to continue through the new year.

Today's project was inspired by the dollar store fall mantle letter that I had this past fall.

I started by drawing the letter.  I used R because our last name starts with R.

It looked a little naked with just the cardboard and mints so I glued on some burlap before hot gluing the starlight peppermints.

I thought it still looked a little naked when I was done...

So I added some tulle.  I'm still not sure how I like it.  I pulled the tulle in a bit since I took this picture and I like it a little better.  Sorry, I'd love to show you but my camera is at my sister-in-law's because I'm going to feature her house in an upcoming post.

Linking up at the great Linky parties found at the bottom of the blog.  They are where I find most of my inspiration!  Check them out!

  3. Just found you and flipped back to the vanity makeover. You quoted Skuttle from the Little Mermaid as he's tell Ariel what a fork is used for. Not a Disney fan are you? What is your favorite; I've got a three way tie going on between "Little Mermaid", "Beauty and the Beast", and "Tangled".
Like your idea with the R. My family's last name is a C and I have a terrible time trying to decorate using it.
    Will deffinately be checking back.

    Sincerely,

    Maureen
