Feature Friday: Dining Room

This moving/staging thing is taking a lot longer than I had anticipated (we moved 3 weeks ago).  Our third room is finally finished (the living room and little girl room are the other two).  This is the dining room.

Before

After

I made the table vignette fall-like in anticipation of cool weather.  Finally it is only going to be in the 70's today here.  Yay!  It's been in the 90's forever and I know that's nothing to a lot of you but I'm still ready for a day of coolness.

I'm totally obsessed with white dishes right now so I used ours to decorate.  If you come over to eat, you get the plastic kid plates.  Haha!  Sorry.

We don't drink (alcohol) around here but I like the look of the bottles so I took some sparkling cider and soaked the bottles in water and vinegar to get the labels off.

Then I got a white paint Sharpie and wrote on them.  My handwriting isn't great but I like the white written look on them.  Our last name is Rich, by the way.  Not that we put being rich up there with love and home.  :)

I bought some more white plates at the thrift store and glued thick string on the back so I could hang them on the wall.

And here it is again in it's entirety.  The clock will be featured next week so come back over to The Turquoise Piano!

  1. Did you paint that grandpappy clock? I'm supposed to inherit one soon, and I have been dreaming of paint colors for it! Ha!

  3. Looking good! That's a great trick of glueing string to the back of plates you will only use for display!

I am delighted you linked to Potpourrri Friday. I appreciate you and hope you will make this a weekly stop.
