Making a doll house has been on my list of things to do in 2012, but sometimes making from scratch costs more than buying a kit. I hate to say it, but it's true. So when I found this 4 ft doll house on sale at RC Willey for $60 (and since I was totally wiped and nauseated from being pregnant) I decided to jump on it for Morgan's birthday.
This was originally $150 at RC Willey. It currently is still on sale if you're in the market. AND it comes with furniture.
This one, which looks extremely similar, is $300 at Toys R Us.
Granted, it's completely factory boring and in need of wallpaper, a wood floor made from pop cycle sticks, and major accessorizing, but it's at least a start... and an easy one! I mean, I put it together... that counts as DIY, right?
I can't say Morgan loves it yet, but she has played with it and doesn't seem to hate it.
AS long as she doesn't have more fun playing with the box it came in.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I totally try to force Stella's dolls and kitchen on her! Hopefully, when they get older they will love all the girly stuff! Then we can take them to American Girl store. (When we are done with residency. And have a real job. And a house. And money.)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it.. Sooo cute.. I can't wait till Sia can get into these doll houses for play.. SO amazing.. ;))
ReplyDeleteHi, Kelli
ReplyDeleteI love the doll house, it's great. I still count as a DIY. : ) Hope all is well. Have a great week.
