I hope everyone is having a great day today! I would like to introduce you to my cute bloggy friend, Alexis, of We Like to Learn as We Go.
I'm so excited to be a guest blogger on The Turquoise Piano! I hope you enjoy my fringe scarf tutorial!
A few things about me - my name is Alexis. My husband and I have been married for 2 years and we have a beautiful 8 month old girl. We've learned a lot in the short time we've been married and thought it would be a good idea to write a book about all the things newlyweds need to know. But I decided to start with my blog We Like to Learn as We Go to share the things I learn every day as a wife, mom, crafter, and cook. It's a very fun journey!
I found this scarf on pinterest and it was just too cute not to make! And I just love the decorative scarves. They are so cute! And this one doesn't cost any money and only takes a few minutes to make!
All you need is an old shirt that's already in your closet that you just don't wear anymore - you know which one I'm talking about. And a good pair of scissors.
Cut about two inches from the armpit all the way across the shirt. (You'll want to save the upper part of the shirt for another project I'll show you next week. It's super cute to match the scarf!)
Then with your scissors, cut strips upward. You can decide how long you want the strips to be depending on how long you want the fringe to be. But you will be pulling them so they will be a little longer than you cut.
After all the strips are cut, pull on each piece to make the fringe.
And then just put the main part over your head and there you go! A super simple and super cute fringe scarf! No sewing, gluing, or spending. Just use what you already have! With the holidays coming up, this would make a great gift!
I hope you come by a visit me over at We Like to Learn as We Go!
