Homemade Gingerbread House

I'm feeling like the best mom right now!  We finally, after 2 1/2 years, had a successful family night where everything turned out as I had imagined (unlike the Build-A-Bear experience).  Wooh!

I'm writing this Tuesday night and we made a homemade gingerbread house.  It was homemade, but not totally.  I used two Betty Crocker gingerbread cake/cookie mixes and followed the cookie instructions, cut out the sides and roof for the house, and we decorated with the usual candy that I wouldn't normally buy.  Awesomeness!  And I think it is the best gingerbread house around.  Eat your heart out Walmart gingerbread house packets!

PS  Pretty please vote again (or for the first time) for my piano at  I could win a cool camera. :)  The winner is announced on the 22nd.

  1. Hi, Kelli

I love your gingerbread house. Merry Christmas.

  2. There is just something magical about gingerbread houses! What fun! Congratulations on the outcome. :-)

  3. So sweet...she says as she smashes and shoves it down her gullet...

  4. Well.. you are the best mom right now! I just bought mine at Joanns and then J wanted it to look like the box.. so that was easy! Yours is so cute!

  5. Your gingerbread house turned out WAY better than ours::)) This was the first year I didn't get all involved with my kids gingerbread house building technique...being 12, 10 and 8, they appreciated that::))

Anyway, I just stumbled upon your blog and think it's wonderful!

    have a great day!
