Wythe Blue -- Yes Please!

Remember 2011?  And the 2011 color of the year, Persimmon?  Here it is, in case you weren't aware that Benjamin Moore chose this color as the color of the year.  The entire year.  Huh?

Now, I get that a lot of you like this color (and it's relatives, coral and salmon).  It's a great color, sure.  And a vase here or a picture frame there... fine.  But I would NEVER (never never) paint a wall persimmon.  I'm sorry.  That's just me.  Wythe blue, however, yes, yes, YES!  Please!

Ah.  Isn't that better.  Don't you feel calmer after seeing it?  I'm sitting here and can practically hear the light trickle of a plug-in spa waterfall with Enya music playing in the background.  Aaaaand I want a massage now... and those dining chairs.

Bravo to Benjamin Moore's design team.  I absolutely love these vignettes that they picked (I think they've been inspiration hunting in blogland).

So, are you ready to paint some walls now?  I know I am!!!  But I don't have my own house so if anyone needs some help, just give me a buzz (okay, text -- I'm not a big phone person). Oh, and can I pick the color?

  1. I have used Wythe Blue for a couple of clients and am longing to use it for myself. It is perfectly colorful and serene. I do love Amythyst as well as montpelier and the greys are speaking to me, too. Have a great weekend, Kelli!

  2. I painted my built-ins Wythe Blue last year and I love them!!! You can see them here:

  3. That is a gorgeous color!! And yes, so calming and serene.

  4. that is pretty but oh so not me! I am one of those big bold folks! I took a huge leap for myself and painted my new living room Sherwin Williams Mindful Grey. I LOVE it.

  5. You can come to WI and help me paint my bedroom... I was thinking whythe blue or nimbus gray with French Press accents, but you can pick whatever you want!

  6. I am SO into the gray/turquoise colors!

  7. Can I blog this post so I don't have to write one? I'm too stinkin' busy and you said it beautifully? {of course I'll attribute it to you, friend!!!}

  8. Thanks for linking to my party! And yes, this is my favorite color palette. And if I could have found enough driftwood on my last beach vacation...I had a driftwood project in mind. Love that frame!

  9. I'm leaning toward the 'earth and sky' and I'm hearing your Enya! andrea@townandprairie

  11. Ah, what a soothing beautiful color. {I loved the coral too.} Thanks for the heads up. BTW, as a Pixie Dust follower, you are invited to pop over & enter a giveaway for an awesome clock. Good luck & thanks for reading!

    Warmly, Michelle

  12. I agree; I'd never use the persimmon on a wall; maybe pillows and accent pieces which would look very nice with the blue. I love that wythe blue too; I lean towards the pale aqua's with my browns and neutrals. Gorgeous photos--thanks for inspiring!

  13. Oh I really love that color. I will have to remember it if I ever have a house to paint. I love blues but I really love how light this color it.

  14. The colors they pick are interesting! Thank you for linking it to Home Sweet Home!

  15. love the blue but actually I was a lover of the persimmon too. Then again, I am the girl that called my blog BeColorful. :0 Thanks for the hook up to Motivated Monday. Have a great week.

  16. Thank you a bunch for sharing this with all folks you really understand what you're talking about! Bookmarked. Kindly additionally discuss with my site =). We could have a hyperlink trade agreement among us!
