Wythe Blue -- Yes Please!

Remember 2011?  And the 2011 color of the year, Persimmon?  Here it is, in case you weren't aware that Benjamin Moore chose this color as the color of the year.  The entire year.  Huh?

Now, I get that a lot of you like this color (and it's relatives, coral and salmon).  It's a great color, sure.  And a vase here or a picture frame there... fine.  But I would NEVER (never never) paint a wall persimmon.  I'm sorry.  That's just me.  Wythe blue, however, yes, yes, YES!  Please!

Ah.  Isn't that better.  Don't you feel calmer after seeing it?  I'm sitting here and can practically hear the light trickle of a plug-in spa waterfall with Enya music playing in the background.  Aaaaand I want a massage now... and those dining chairs.

Bravo to Benjamin Moore's design team.  I absolutely love these vignettes that they picked (I think they've been inspiration hunting in blogland).

Here are Benjamin Moore's other Color Trends for 2012.

Spiced Life

So, are you ready to paint some walls now?  I know I am!!!  But I don't have my own house so if anyone needs some help, just give me a buzz (okay, text -- I'm not a big phone person). Oh, and can I pick the color?

  1. I have used Wythe Blue for a couple of clients and am longing to use it for myself. It is perfectly colorful and serene. I do love Amythyst as well as montpelier and the greys are speaking to me, too. Have a great weekend, Kelli!

  12. I agree; I'd never use the persimmon on a wall; maybe pillows and accent pieces which would look very nice with the blue. I love that wythe blue too; I lean towards the pale aqua's with my browns and neutrals. Gorgeous photos--thanks for inspiring!
